Design Matters Camp, an Introduction to Students about Design Thinking
A summer camp for high school students, Design Matters offers motivated high school students an introduction to the design of the built environment. The setting, curriculum, and instruction provide the opportunity to experience life as a design student on a university campus for one week. Discover More.
UT Architecture Heads to DC for AIA National Convention
Faculty, alumni and students will be well-represented at the 2012 American Institute of Architects National Convention held in Washington, DC this week. UT is featured with an unprecedented number of its community accepting awards and presenting lectures. Join us for the Alumni Reception on May 17.
Students Reach Culmination of Academic Studies: Graduation Hooding Ceremony
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Architecture and Design celebrates its 2012 graduating class. The students were acknoweledged at the Hooding Ceremony, May 11. Watch the event online!
UT New Norris House Receives
LEED-Platinum Certification
The New Norris House, an award-winning home developed by students and faculty of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes Platinum Certification from the US Green Building Council. The achievement makes the New Norris House only the tenth LEED-platinum home in Tennessee and the first LEED-platinum project for the UT system. Read More.

City Marks Progress of UT Driven Rehabilitation of Historic Knoxville Cemeteries
The progress toward the reanimation of two historically and culturally important cemeteries in East Knoxville - Odd Fellows Cemetery and Potters Field - was acknowledged with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. Mayor Madeline Rogero and others spoke about the importance of the project, an effort led by Assistant Professor Katherine Ambroziak. Read More.
UT Solar-Powered House in Memphis as Educational Exhibition
Living Light, the UT Knoxville’s solar-powered house, is presently at Shelby Farms Park from April 10 to May 30. This is part of the house's multi-city tour to teach children, industry professionals, and homeowners about cutting-edge sustainable science, technology, and design. Discover More.
