Steps for Admission | Portfolio Requirements

In order to maintain a successful learning culture, admission to the bachelor of architecture program has become increasingly selective.

For admission, students are evaluated based on grades and test scores, as well as the submission of a portfolio of visual works. The portfolios are reviewed by the undergraduate Admissions Committees. The purpose of the portfolio is to demonstrate visual and graphic ability as well as potential for graphic communication and expression.

Students entering the program are among the highest qualified students on campus -- high school GPAs and SAT/ACT scores of applicants are on average the best compared to freshmen applying to other programs on campus.

Within the program, the choice of general education, open and professional electives, as well as the opportunities to participate in various elective design studios and/or off-campus programs have increased the possible variations for students to pursue their own interests and directions.

The bachelor of architecture program also now offers several honors courses. The College worked closely with the Chancellor's Honors Program and the College Curriculum Committee to establish these courses.
